Just wanted to give a heads up

FF Marathon May 27 - 7PM

Some of the works featured as part of Fly Films include:

Skeena Steelhead on Dry Flies (with April Vokey) – Vantage Point Media House: Shot on location at Nicholas Dean Lodge by Fly Max Films, this film is an audience favorite and features renowned female fly angler, April Vokey, fly fishing for steelhead on the beautiful Skeena watershed.

Trout is All – Rolf Nylinder: This short feature is presented with amazing scenery and cinematography from a trip to övre vindelälven, the upper Vindel River in northern Sweden.

No More Time to Lose – No Sports Allowed: Joe Rood sings about life and getting out on the water at every opportunity in this music video.

A Deliberate Life – Silo4: Set primarily against the diverse, rugged and breathtaking landscape of Idaho and Oregon, A Deliberate Life explores the stories of five unlikely friends who share the same love of fly fishing, the outdoors and their choice to lead a life according to their passions.

Costa Rica Challenge, Director’s Cut – No Sports Allowed: Shot in the heart of Central America by No Sports Allowed and Fly Max Films, five veracious trout fisherman launch on a salty journey that most said couldn’t be done. One country, two oceans, three species and 430 kilometers, all in just 36 hours. Is it possible?

Sheebang – Cross Current Productions: The story follows two anglers as they journey above the Arctic Circle in search of the rare and elusive sheefish. Facing challenges at every turn, Sheebang showcases the excitement, difficulties and raw beauty of fishing in areas of Alaska so remote that few have ever seen them.

Fly of My Dreams – No Sports Allowed: Fly of My Dreams is an original song written for No Sports Allowed by Joe Rood and Robby Mason from Gunnar and the Grizzly Boys. This entertaining music video was filmed on location in Ashton, Idaho back in August 2010 and parodies the quest to tie the ultimate fly.

Nile Style – Burl Productions: Journey down to the Nile River in Egypt to chase record-breaking Nile perch and African tiger fish with world adventurer, Jeff Currier, and African angler, Jonathan Boulton.

Only the River Knows – Kokkaffe Conglomerate: Filmed in New Zealand, Australia, Norway and Sweden, the main part of this epic tale takes place by the legendary Lethe River on New Zealand’s wild and wondrous South Island. In 1988, one of the most iconic fly fishers of our time, Lars Lenth, spent three months exploring the fabled river and fishing for its abnormally large trout. At night, he would sit down in a remote cabin and write down his experiences in a journal. Nearly 25 years later, a young trout bum, Rolf Nylinder, loses his way in the wilderness near Lethe. By chance, he finds the long-lost journal, full of insights about the very soul of fly fishing.

A River Time Forgot – Burl Productions: After visiting Mongolia in 2006, professional fly fisherman and snowboarder, Mike Wier, vowed to return and some day float a remote river to fish and explore. This is the story of that trip. In 2008, a small group of American anglers, with the help of a group of skilled Mongolians, became the first to float fish 140 miles of this remote river in the Northern Steps of Mongolia in pursuit of the world’s largest trout.

The Last Salmon Forest – Detonation Studios: This award-winning tells the story of the campaign to protect two million acres of irreplaceable watersheds in the Tongass National Forest, located in Southeast Alaska. The Tongass is one of the most unique places on earth in which to cast a fly line to migrating salmon (all five species of Pacific salmon use the diverse waters of this unbelievable national forest) as well as Dolly Varden, steelhead, sea-run cutthroat and rainbow trout.
