i came acroos this book while on ebay.

Mid-Atlantic Budget Angler by Ann McIntosh.

is it worth a look? for now im buying up small stream books but i was wondering if this had any info on other streams not in mecks, landis or wolfs books. any info appreciated!
i still feel to date that landis's book is A+! :-D

also i have found these books on small streams, which do u think is the best?

Flyfishing tactics on small streams-Lou Stevens

The small stream Dry Fly: A New and radical approach- Lou Stevens

Fly-Fishing small streams- John Gierach

Flyfishing small streams with a flyrod-Charles Meck

Small Stream Fly fishing-Jeff Morgan

The Challenge of Fishing small streams-Tony Orman and Jim Ayers

Rough River and small stream fishing. Modern Angling Series- David Carl Forbes

Trout from small streams - Dave Hughes

any thoughts?

I read Gierach's book. It's not bad, and has a good bit of his humor which is nice. It's a short read that has some decent info, however most of it isn't very groundbreaking. His stories of the high mountain streams are nice as well.

All in all, I'd read trout bum and his other books first for the quality of the read, but it was decent.

I also read the Gierach book and felt it was a better read than manual.

I got about halfway through the Meck book, which tells you how I felt about it.

I have Ann McIntosh's book. It only focuses on the more popular streams. Now, if you travel to some of the surrounding states it is a good starting point for setting up accomidations and what not. From what you said you're looking for, I would pass on it.

thank you for the info steve! :-D

The Hughes book is worth owning.

BUT! If you want the real poop on Small stream fishing in Pa mountain streams......Joe Humphrey's "Trout Tactics"

There is a great chapter on mountain stream fishing 'how to'.

And there is always the video "A casting approach to Dry Fly tactics in Tight Brush"....also by Joe. Not strictly a 'book' per se, but a wealth of information.

Cheers,
Dewey
