Does anyone know of a GOOD stream thermometer that is accurate and has numbers/lines that won't wear away? One where the tube doesn't twist inside of the casing? I seem to have to buy one every year.

Get a thermal laser. They are awesome. Easy, accurate and instant.
William Joseph, Cabelas knock off of WJ. Harbor Freight has two models and both are dead nuts accurate and inexpensive.

honestly, i bought a digital cook thermometor for seven bucks and it's better than the 20 dollar c&f designs one that i lost prior. its accurate down to the tenth of a degree. i definetly recommend it.
