I used to replace my felt soles a few times before I gave up on the uppers which, if you bought a good boot. could hold up a long time, especially with the aid of shoo goo.
The whole process used to be pretty easy and very cheap. Maybe twelve bucs or so for a set of felt outsoles and some glue.
I moved to rubber soles a bunch of years ago now, but I still haven't found a good source for buying the "sticky rubber" outsole material. I've had Patagonia, Aquastealth, and Vibram Streamtread and they all perform just about as well for me when you add studs. I wouldn't care which sticky rubber it was, if I could get my hands on it, I'd buy it and replace the soles myself.
Any leads?
