Just was at the Valley Forge TU and heard the latest about the posting off of the East Brandywine DHALO that has been going on for a few months. 2 weeks ago I updated the thread reporting the editorial and articles in the Daily Local, which sounded very positive at the time for the ffishing cause.

However, there is work to do to make the reopening an actuality.

The above Rally will be on Sept 22, Saturday. There is now a website http://www.friendsofthestrubletrail.org/Home_Page.html that tells of what's happening in the campaign to get this nice water back to its former state.

There is also a petition which you can sign electronically.

John Johnson, also of the West Chester Fish, Game and Wildlife group is involving the Brandywine Anglers (or some such), and is working on getting the state congressman and politicians involved, who look like they will help.

There are numbers tossed around like $1.5 million to regain the open access. I'm not asking you for money, since we have some national foundations with grant money who are being enlisted to help, provided of course that there is enough demonstrated public interest (that's where you come in).

The developers have some very good legal cards in their hand, and the township commissioners are split right now on which side they will assist. What we have is the public interest and the means to generate the right publicity.

If any of you could show up for the Rally in Downingtown's Kerr Park, that would be helpful. Look respectable enough so any photos the paper takes won't embarrass you or your family/friends.

Also please sign the petition.

Check the website to keep up on what's going on. We are only halfway at best to the goal.
