not sure if this has been posted yet.

"An analysis of four grass carp captured last year in Ohio's Sandusky River, a tributary of Lake Erie"

The article is a bit misleading. Grass carp are completely different from the feared "Asian Carp" we see catapulting out of the water by the hundreds on youtube.
Are they a potential ecological problem? Yes, but they shouldn't be confused with the other problematic species. In fact, grass carp have been stocked intentionally in many cases so this is not very surprising.

I just lost twenty years reading the thread topic, scared the crap out of me. If they lose the battle in Illinois and they make it into the lakes we are in deep doodo.

The City of Chicago has to be proactive on this, they are the ones that control the flow of the Chicago River and they can close of the canal that connects it to the Great Lakes. EPA should take Chicago to court to stop them from opening the canal.

What a sad mess of a situation.
