As far as mayflies, Sulphurs for sure, it's primetime for them. A chance for the end of the March browns or beginning of the Drakes.

And there's always caddis.

Plus nymphs of all types, of course. Based on past weather for the jams, a few big black sculpins or buggers should be in the box.

And some really big nymphs, like size 6 and 8. Oh, with rubber legs.
At one of the jams the rain made Penn's almost unfishable. Some here will remember sitting around John's camper listening to Jonas talk about how to fish Penn's in such conditions. His suggestion was to go deep, go big and go with lots of movement. The only fish I caught on Penn's that weekend was on a size 8 stonefly nymph with rubber legs.

I was flipping some rocks at the last Jam and I noticed a big golden stonefly population so that eould be a good anchor fly to use .

Well now that the planets and stars have all aligned I'm finally going to make it to my first Jam. I'm really looking forward to it.

Now..... Is there anyone willing to share a camp site? I will be sleeping in my truck so I just need a place to park it. I will be glad to help with the site fees of anyone who already has a site with room or split the cost with anyone needing a site, if there are any left. Since I will be solo I can't see taking up a site by my self if Idon't have to.

Also if any one from northwest PA wants to ride down I plan on leaving Meadville some time Friday morning and returning late Sunday.

Thanks
Jeff

Daveyboy.... Thanks, let me know the site number if you have one assigned so I can find you and how much half the site fee is and I will plan on it.

Thanks again

Sounds awesome and pretty close for me too! But I planned a canoe/backpacking trip on the west branch of Susquehanna. To fish for natives in the mountain Tribs between karthaus and renovo. Maybe I can move something around

Does anyone know how big the tent pads are? I'm considering buying a new tent this year, a bigger 10x10 one, but not sure if I need to adjust my campsite to adjust.

Suppose I should call but if anyone knows off hand, please call.

Jeff,
I am pretty sure they let me know what number Im in when I arrive, at least that's what they told me on the phone. The total was like 55 for both nights, so its not much. If you want to exchange numbers in a private message I can just call you and let you know when the time comes thatd be fine.
