Midges

Stopped by the Tully on the way home the other afternoon just to watch the green water flow by. There were a lot of black midges coming off the creek and the eddies along the edge of the stream were covered with midge shucks. I did not see any fish rising to them but I got a pretty decent photo of one. It measured about 1/4" from the tip of the antenae to the end of the abdomen. Wishin' for some warmer weather.

Thats a great picture of such a tiny fly. Despite their size they are one of my favorite hatches to fish.
