Ross Reels

I just wanted to get some opinions on the less expensive Ross reels; Flywater, Flystart & Flycast. Does anyone own any of these reels? Do you get what you pay for on these models or are they a great deal for the price?

My friend uses a Flystart and it is an very good real for the price. I have an Evolution and while the drag on the Flystart is not as smooth, that is not often an issue fishing for trout in PA.

I use both the older flywater and the newer flywater II. Same drag system on both, very smooth and reliable.

I have an old, inexpensive Ross that I have used exclusively on my 3 and 4 wts. I have beat the crap out of it and it just keeps right on like it was new. I bid on a new Sage 3100 on ebay to replace it, did not win it and really did not care.
