Well after much research, advice and test casting different rods, I finally bought my new steelhead setup. I decided to go with a Lamson Litespeed 3.5 and a 10 ft. 7wt Echo Ion. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks to all of those who offered advice, I appreciate it.

Congrats rudeone, I'm sure that setup will serve you well. I don't have experience with Echo rods but have been hearing great things about them. I have the same reel on my 4 wt, so it's the 1.5 and love it. Let us know how the setup fishes and how you do.

I have an echo rod, much smaller, a 3-weight echo carbon. scary accuracy, great quality for price, and when I broke the finest scetion out of sheer carelesness, the ech0 people where very helpful.
