This 9 foot 7 weight would make a great bass and steelhead rod for someone who needs a step up from a 5 weight.

Please don't spot barn burn Sierra Trading Post. That would also make a nice pike rod!

I must say this is definitely a good deal. I currently have a Powell 9' 5wt had it for 7 years now and only use it on occasion and performs like a 9'5wt.
Short story though> My original rod I ran into a tree just right and broke the tip off, ended up cutting the rest of the rod off to the next ferrule to save the day of fishing. I called up the folks at Powell sent the rod/case and $30 check (I think) and the following week I had a new rod and case which was all the better since it was three years new compared to my original rod. Most impressed by that experience and I must say I never got the same service from Orvis (waders) or Simms (boots).
