Nice tie! looks like its going to start crawling...... How long did it take you to tie it?

Very nice fly!! Is the contest local?

took a long time to get it right, and no it is not local.

That's too nice to fish with Sandfly , absolutely awesome.

I agree. Remarkable!

Amazing! where did you catch it. ;-)

Thanks Guys hope it ok for contest.

I think you'll win any contest you enter that one in.....tell us where and when about the contest if you would and i'll say Thanks AND congratulations in advance. If i came up with something that nice i don't know if i'd trust the mail with it , i mean i don't think i'd let that one out of my sight till it was in the judges hands lol , is there $ involved? If you don't want to elaborate i understand.

HOLY S H I T !!!! LOL I'll buy ten of them off ya. haha Seriously though, how long did those take to tie?

So when have you ever seen a red or orange stone fly?

You ask where Bob saw red and orange stoneflies (Woodstock of course)lol
He had reservations from day 1 till the end !

Above is a list of Stonfly species found in PA. I'm sure at least one of them may be Orange or Red. Just because you haven't seen red or orange stonflies doesn't mean that they won't catch fish. One of my favorite winter patterns is a Brassie tied with Blue or Purple Ultra Wire. I've never seen Blue or Purple bugs, but they catch fish.

Nice fly sandfly. Are the legs made from biots or something else?

Chaz, old buddy its a tribute to the red baron plane
Henry you are right, seen a lot of weird flys back then...LOL
Tuna, the legs are biots

here is the upgraded one;

Which contest are you entering? BTW send a couple of those down to Lou so I can win em at the BCTU meeting!

Henry; bring some pics of your flies to the meeting. I want to get that WEB site up soon.

Flytyer.com, fly tyer of the year.

they look good sandy ,. match the hatch is over rated anyway , when did u see a bug that looks like a royal wulff ? or a yellow caddis , they still catch thousands of trout each year !

I want to order one off you, but I want it in a shadow Box with your autograph behind it...Only if you win fly tyer of the year though :)
