I have tied up some slate drake nymphs and I've caught fish on them over the years. I know the slate drake nymphs come in a variety of sizes (I have them in a 12 all the way up to about a 6). What size do you tie your green drake nymphs or maybe your brown drakes? Kind of directed towards sandfly since I've noticed a lot of his drakes he's tied lately. I'll add a pic of my green drake nymph here in a little bit.

all my drakes are between a size 4 and a size 10.

green drakes;
penns 6-10
pine 8-12
lyman 10-12
Brown drakes;
all streams 6-8
Yellow drakes;
all streams 8-10
slate drakes;
pine 8-14
all others 10-14
The slates have different sizes and sub species. the south east has a lot of grey drakes as the small streams here (14) then there is the white gloved howdy (10-12) Isonychia is a good 8-10 on most larger streams.

Yup totally agree with ya about the slates (Isonycias). I was just unsure how big to go with my other drake nymphs.

Here's 2 of my green drakes
