The first picture is a fly I tied trying to mimic the 2nd fly which is store bought with the materials I actually had. I'm going for the shrimp look for an upcoming saltwater trip. Any feedback?

It's a good imitation of the fly below.

If it were me, I'd thicken (slightly) the body in the section close to the eye of the hook and maybe put a couple turns of hackle at the eye to replicate the tail flipper. With respect to function, I'd also recommend having several versions of this fly with different weights for different water depths and current. I tend to like my flies on the heavier side, but if you find yourself on a shallow flat with spooky fish and lots of grass, you will want some flies that sink slower and enter the water softer. Weed guards on shrimp flies help too.
