I really like using CDC for dry flies. I like it just as much for wets.
The movement that it brings to a fly is hard to beat. This is a fly I have used early Spring at Quill Gordon time and done well with. It is also a good way to use up those CDC feathers which are not the best quality. The wing is just a tip of a feather. The thorax is CDC dubbed then picked out. Nice and buggy.
