I picked up a pack of these at Somerset. This is my 2nd round messing with them. Wanted a peacock and black colored stone for the Salmon River. Here's what I came up with. Thoughts?

Also, any other patterns posted online anywhere with these hooks I can check out?

Dub,
That's a nice looking fly.

As for the bent hook, I use 'em all the time but just use pliers to make a slight bend. This is why I still like old Mustads for streamer flies, they seem to bend better without breaking.

Anyway, with regards to bent flies for stonefly nymphs, I actually like to reverse the hook so it rides point upward by tying in a bead chain eye, then a bit of weight on the top of the shank; then flip the fly over and finish it like a Clouser Minnow. This stonefly can be fished right on the bottom without as many snags.
I'm not sure it would be the best pattern for sight fishing to groups of large fish in Great lakes tribs as the upward riding hook may increase foul hookings.

Nice tie! Looks like some of the stones that I fish and do very well with on the Salmon River.

As far as other patterns, I tie Stimulators with that style hook as well.

Nice tie Dub. Very buggy looking and I like the black and yellow contrast.

Yup that will put a bend in the rod..
