A friend of mine had followed the Dunkard Creek kill of a year ago closely and has been cursing DEP the entire time for actually playing a part in the event. Here's an article about it...

Personally, to be honest, I don't know enough about politics and influences of Harrisburg on the DEP, but I'm sure it's there. And I'm willing to bet the Examiner will be used as a public relations tool... a nice fluffy, cozy, convenient cover-up blanket.

greenghost...........that is a very distressing story but in the end vigilance on the part of the grassroots orgs. i.e. Friends of Dunkard creek prevail and it seems like they will win again in court when their case comes up. Do you know when that will be? curious of the outcome. Also , you may be right about the "Examiner" but i'm thinking that with folks like yourself watching they won't succeed. Keep your eyes open and be vigilant. They probably won't try that again.

Just signed up. I've been reviewing the DCNR documents for leasing of state land. They have done their homework. If they are in the bag for the drillers why would they put all that work into the lease preparation?
