Whenever i hook a perch or a sunny my fly doesnt stay on top anymore. Is it the fish slime on it or is it the bad quality of flies that i buy? Do i just have to dry it off?

I'm going to assume you're talking traditional catskill dry flies. You definitely need to dry the fly if it isn't floating. Are you using floatant?

Now if you're talking foam poppers. I know some recipes that call to coat the foam, it could also be the type of foam. I don't use that many foam flies.

Im assuming the slime is the culprit. I swish my slime flies in the water, blow em dry, and dab them with frogs fanny. They come out pretty good.
