Oil Creek Bass

Does Oil Creek have a good population of smallmouths? I've heard of bigger fish swimming up from the river in the spring, but don't really know how good it is this time of year. Just thinking of ideas for the weekend. Wouldn't want to fish all day for only one or two fish, but Oil's a beautiful stream so I don't think I'll be dissapointed either way. Thanks

I've never really targeted them in the late summer there. I hear it's pretty good. I routinely catch a decent smallie or two when I fish for trout in June time frame, though. That's early for smallies, and for not targeting them, I'd say it speaks to a pretty good population.
