Repairing fly line on the stream

As some of you may have seen from my post in the General forum, I had the pleasure of fishing SW Wisconsin for wild trout last week.

I had a new fly line that I'd picked up for the trip and unfortunately for me I noticed that the outer layers had been cut right down to the core of the line. This happened with maybe 4 days of fishing left.

Fortunately for me it hadn't seperated significantly and it was a nice clean break. Also fortunate for me that I had some Knot Sense on hand. Put a little bit on the line to seal up the crack and it got me through the trip with the same line.

Just thought I'd share another good use for this stuff with the masses.

I have a line that I use very often that has a blood knot in it. That was a streamside repair. Got a stinkin birdsnest in my reel somehow and I thought I had it figured out so I pulled in the line and it broke. So I tried a 2 turn blood knot and its held ever since. It actually doesn't hinder my casting either.
