Hey folks,

I was wondering if anyone ever uses a double nymph rig off a dry dropper, essentially fly fishing with 3 flies. I've dabbled with it a bit, but was wondering if anyone else has had success with it or if it's just too much line in the water or if it's too hard to notice the strike on the last nymph. Would the double nymph rig create too much drag on the dry?

Thanks!

I have done that multiple times and it definitely works for me. But I prefer to use only one dropper on a dry/dropper rig. But when I nymph, I use 3 flies a lot.

I have used an emerger and nymph under a big October Caddis in the fall with good sucess. Caught fish on all three flies. Only drawback is it is easy to tangle and frustrating to untangle.

I have used it before but if I get a breakout it's double the sadness losing 2 flys lol
