For those of you who are Paul Schullery fans: He has a new compendium of things he has had published in a variety of magazines out now called "The Fishing Life." As Gierach says on the book's dust jacket, it is not a "nuts and bolts" fishing book but rather deals with the satellite aspects of fishing. It is both an entertaining and thought-provoking set of essays. I think my favorite was the chapter entitled "The Adams Hatch," possibly because I thought I had invented that term to refer to some little gray flies that I find hatching. Schullery examimes the actual development of the Adams dry fly in his essay.
Another essay, "How Can You Do That?," takes a look at the ethics of catch-and-release fishing.
Lots of good stuff in "The Fishing Life."
I think you will like this book. It is a keeper.
