Hey folks,

If anyone is looking for some great music to dig on the way to or from a stream, I highly recommend the new album from James McMurtry - Complicated Game. It came out earlier this year and is probably one of my favorite records of the year.

For those not familiar, James is the son of the McMutrty who wrote Lonesome Dove and a ton of other western novels. He's released a few other great records - Just Us Kids, Childish Things, Too Long in the Wasteland. He's definitely in the singer-songerwriter, alt-country vain.

Great music and even better lyrics and storytelling. I especially dig his reference to the "March Brown Hatch" in "Deaver's Crossing".

Here's his official video for "Forgotten Coast" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0BhwLamL_8

Best,

Michael

I'll check it out. "Choctaw Bingo" is one of my favorite songs.

It's a great tune for sure! The version off his live record - Live in Aught Three - is absolutely stunning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TSaqMyPwBM

Thanks for the heads up. I listen and am enjoying it.
His Dad is by far my favorite author

I can dig it.
