Inshore Fly Fishing by Lou Tabory

A "how to" book. It has been very informative on salt water fly fishing. Goes over rods-reels,leaders,species,locations-(mostly east coast- works for me), flies, tactics.

To me, seems like a good book to open to a specific chapter for a question- rather than reading from one end to the other.

Permit on a Fly- Jack Samson

So far so good a few chapters in. A man's travels of fly fishing the Bahama's in the late 60's early 70's. Jack is an editor of Field and Stream and shares stories with some notables of the sport. Some stories are pretty colorful. Enjoy his enthusiasm for catching fish on the fly.

These are two very good books although Tabory's is more "how to" whereas Sampson is more of a history of permit fishing. Both of my copies are well worn and I'm re-reading Sampson this week. See the general forum for some thoughts on Jack Sampson and his generation.
