Anyone see the JUNE 07 issue of NG
It had an article on a may-fly hatch on the Mississippi R.
In Wisconsin that was so intense it showed up on Doplar Radar
Good news for the OLE MISS on that section.

I didn't see the June NG, but I'm not surprised to hear this.

If I recall correctly, it's a Hexagenia of some sort. We were over on the Minnesota side of the river (around Red Wing, which is roughly near the LaCrosse/Black River area of WI) a couple years back in late June and the Hexes were so thick in the parking lots, you could hardly breathe.

Speaking of Doppler radar, the Hexes on Lake Erie are back to the point where they show up on Doppler too when they're roaring. I remember that long-necked hambone that used to do the weather on WSEE (CBS-35) in Erie showing them on the Doppler...
