Yeah,
with the lack of cool fishing shows, i dig this one. The guy is a little odd but i like seeing him catch pike on a fly and watching the surroundings he's in which are always pretty scenic..mostly remote canada i believe.

Never seen this, but if you get Versus Channel they have a new fly fishing show which started airing couple weeks ago called "Dollar Wise Fly." The premise is basically this guy fishing various destinations around the country on the cheap, with a tally of his expenses at the end of the show. So far he's fished for some monster reds in Louisiana and blue sharks in the waters off San Diego, and it's not all salt, he'll be in CO for the next show. Overall I'd say it's a lot better than "Familiar Waters" which I'm pretty sure is the only other regularly televised fly fishing show.

It's on Saturdays at 1:30 but is also on late Friday through Sunday.

If you go to http://www.versus.com/schedule you can search for "Dollar Wise Fly" and it will give you the schedule for all the upcoming airings.

I like the show, but I wish VS would put it on in HD. The HD VS channel has paid programming for golf gimmicks.

Well if it isn't shot in HD you won't see it broadcast in HD...like anything else its garbage in-garbage out...Putting a show, shot in SD on an HD channel just doesn't happen...
