I seen this commercial today and thought has anyone's wife on the board done anything like this when they were about to go fishing . I don't have any stories of my own yet but I would love to here some of yours :-D

I've seen that commercial, I had a girl in my life one time that did that to my ugly stick. She was gone from my life in less then a New York minute. Out on the street.

My wife hasn't actually done this, but I'm sure she's thought about it on occasion. I try to treat her extra special when I'm home to make up for the time I'm away fishing.

I only buy rods with unlimited life time guarantees. Let her break away!!!!!!!

My wife is usually pretty cool when it come to fishing. She has drawn the line at all night drinking sessions that end at 9am. She hates it when I sleep all day into the next after those nights.

My future wife lets me do anything that involves fly fishing whenever I want --- I'm lucky, but she knew it coming in.
We have a seperate room in our house that is a fly tying/rod building room, and this is also a factor at any house we look at to buy.

Sure she gets ticked when its 10:30 and I'm just coming home from fishing because, "I was dark 2 hours ago!"
But nothing to the "ugly stick" extreme.

Even our honeymoon is in Colorado Springs!

I had 5 wives and they all did that...R.I.P.

Wife and I have a mutual agreement, when the caddis start, the next 6 weeks are mine

Like I said in the other post, Saturdays are my day. My wife would pack my bag and drive me to the water if she had to; she enjoys her quality time as much as I do.

Wait a minute...

Hank

My wife is too smart to give me an excuse to buy another rod. Usually more expensive than the last.

No, but that's essentially what I did to my spine. :-D

Nancy has now drawn the line at "no more rods." On the other hand, she fishes with me a lot and if not, she always says "go!"

Rolf

PS - Yes.... I'm lucky

my girl is the opposite.she usually uses what she thinks is the cheaper rod when we fish, because she's afraid she'll break it.
but (what she perceives to be)the more expensive has a lifetime guarantee.

she's always trying to talk me into more expensive rods.

My Wife refers to anything fishing related as 'porn' after her returning from a business trip and finding fishing DVD's in the player in the bedroom, (in fairness at the time it was the only DVD player that worked), although she has never smashed any of my equipment, I'm pretty certain it has crossed her mind once or twice...

HAHA...Great Video...But an Ugly stick...Isn't that false advertisement.

My fiance and my 2 buddies girlfriends all call fishing for us.... "Brokebacking". They say we have nothing to prove that we went fishing cause we never bring any fish home... They don't and probably will never understand C&R. OOO well I put up with the name calling to wet a line!

My wife is excellent with regard to my hobbies. I fish and/or golf 7 days a week when the weather is good. It does get a bit expensive though as her and my daughter go shopping or to the country club, but it is worth it.

I get the same thing.

"Oh you're going to stay in the mountains with a bunch of men in a cabin."

Everybody has something that they are into. If its not this its something else, be it golf, bars, or TV. At least this is a constructive addiction.

I have the greatest wife in the world!

She told me a few years back, I should quit working so I could go fishing more, I took her up on it. So she works a couple of jobs and I fish and do the cookin and take care of the house.

Since the bad back and now the lyme disease, we have a maid come in and do the house work. Im now down to cookin and fishin!

none of your women liked your ugly stick !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D

Paul, The way you cook, it's still a good deal. Get well soon.

I told her in the very begining, do not and i re-pete do not bother me from october first till 2 weeks before Xmas,(hunting season) and from the 2nd saturday of april till my birthday may 4th. i fished and hunted regularly before you and before i was even working regularly. The outdoors is part of mans DNA. When they lived in caves they either hunted or farmed. Its what we are.
