Bass last year this year trout

Well it was a bad spawn last year for smallies with all the high flows in the spring and summer . I didn't catch a Smallie on a poper all year But with this Springs high temps early hatches and low flows it's looking to be a long summer for Trout. But in turn it might be a good spawn for the Smallies this year .

I hope this summer is ok for trout survival, but I have no problem putting the trout gear away by the end of june. I am chomping at the bit for some good smallie fishing after last year's debacle.

You might be right, however were not out of the clear quite yet for smallies. If by a month from now water levels have remained stable, I think we'll be able to count on a good or great year class of SMB. With the right combination or conditions, we could see both great bass and trout fishin.
