I need some info on Arizona fishing opportunities. There is a pretty good chance I'll be going to Rimrock Arizona for a week next month and am looking for any info you guys may have on fishing spots in the area. Rimrock is located pretty close to Camp Verde and the Verde River. I've read some stuff about that river and it's seem like it may be an ok place to try but I'm looking for other options as well. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Id fish Oak CreeK in Sedona. On the Creek fly Shop for info and guide service. Rainbows and a few browns in the creek.Really nice scenery as well.

Charlie Meck has a book "Arizona Trout Streams and their Hatches". If it is anything like the one he wrote for PA, it should help out a lot.

get into the headwaters and go after some apache trout!! beautiful fish!

Apache trout! That would put a rare feather in yer cap.

That would be a rare feather and one I would love to have. I was looking into fishing for those but only found info on the Apache Reservation areas. Do you guys know if there are others areas outside the reservation to fish for them?

Check azfd .com site

Gulf,
That site didn't work for me. Or I should say it didn't go anywhere like it wasn't a site.

In addition to what has been suggested, if you are in good shape and want to explore you might check out the canyon portions of West Clear. Never fished it, but always meant to. From what I have read it is a shadow of its former self, but you never know.

AZ used to stock apache trout and probably still do, so if a pure strain native is what you seek, best to contact a state wco or biologist if the info isnt online.

Good luck

sorry about that fly,i missed the G.Rigby got it right. Thanks

Thanks for the info guys. I really don't know just how much the little lady will let me fish but the more options the better.

Thanks again.

It is a Jesuit saying.? :-?
I supose it involves the length of stay in the dog house.
If the misses likes to shop I'd go to Sedona.Enough shops there to keep her busy for the day and the creek runs through town. It's what my misses and I do. ;-) :pint:
