added one of these to vest... takes some space, weighs 8 oz., much more than mfr claims, but works well.

Why not just mount a 3 x 9 scope on your rod? If you use detachable mounts, you can easily transfer it from rod to rod as needed.... :-D

have used the monocular a bit, works quite well given cost. I know very little about optics, but 6x (the 6 in 6x30) is lower power than 8x or 10x monoculars, better to use on the go. 30mm lens (30 in 6x30) gathers more light than say 20mm lens.

the 6x30 barska works well even wearing glasses. once in a while I see a bear or coyote, hope to get a better look next time...
