I am thinking about upgrading a couple of rods. Meaning, I have a couple of two piece rods that I want to upgrade to 4 piece rods. The one is a 906 rpl and the other is a 905 XP, SAGE.

Would you get rid of the old and make way for the new?

Two classics there. I would not part with them

+1

2 great rods. I'd keep them.

Love my 2 piece rods, wouldn't trade them in for a 4 piece unless space I'm flying.

^ Me too, I would never get rid of either of them. In fact I have those 2 exact rods, an RPL and an XP in those weights that I use as backups right now.

Ditto. I have some Rpls that are still my primary rods.

Keep them. I have to Sage LL series . One is a 2 piece and the other is a 3 piece. Can't tell the difference when fishing with them. My 2 LL's are my main rods.

Totally agree with the consensus.
I have several 4 piece rods - that mainly get used just for flying to destinations.
Other than that, it take my old two piece rods on all of my drive trips

I'll add my voice to the chorus. Unless I'm flying somewhere, I prefer to use a 2 piece rod.

I was going to suggest selling the xp to me but it seems all the bad advice these guys gave you would prohibit that from happening.
