I have an old Fenwick Feralite glass 6 wt. My father in law gave it to me when I got into fly fishing. From what I understand its a very nice rod but has seen better days. He was a spin guy but had this one for the odd occasion. I fished it several times and really liked the slow action and feel it has.

I would like to find someone local that can take this apart and refinish the blank for a later project.

Any suggestions??

Local to where?

Yes...Gettysburg or the Susquehanna Valley area. It would be nice to find someone I could drive to and meet to discuss options for it.

I am not against shipping it either...but would prefer someone's recommendation as opposed to just picking a company off the internet.

There is a rod shop in Elizabethtown. Barry built a rod for me on a blank I supplied, so he may be able to do what you want. He does nice work. http://dreamweaverrods.com/

Can't remember the name but I thought there was a guy in
Chambersburg. Specialized in bamboo.

I think those old Fenwicks used polyester rather than epoxy resin, didn't they? If so, that's something you'll probably want to consider.
