I've been Fly Fishing for over a year now, I love it. I am looking to replace a fiberglass 5-6 wt Fenwick of my Pop's that I broke when I was a kid. Pop bought them thinking he might take up fly fishing, well a few dozen years later he has the time.
This rod may have been a 3 piece, I can get more info if you guys can tell me where too look, We still have the aluminum tube and the kilt lookin' sock. We also have the 7-8 wt Rod, tube and sock. I think they where the same year and model just different wt's. Knowing the old man as well as I do, I know fiberglass is perfect for him, and replacing the Trout portion of his fly rod duo would be sweet if I can pull it off.

It was a two piece. Measuring the length of the tube/sock will tell you how long.

There were a number of 7' to 8' 5 and 6wt rods, but identifying the exact model is unlikely without the butt section and its writing.

Thanks for the good info, I guess I turned it into a 3 piece.

Prices are really high compared to a few years ago.

I have an 8' 6wt. that I would sell. pm me if interested.

The link was real helpful, the 7-8 wt is a ff80 so I think I'm looking for a FF75 5-6 wt, looks like its a nice one  thank you for the offer on the 8' 6wt I'll keep it in mind as I continue my search.

There's usually some for sale on Craigslist

I have the FF75. Love it. It's my favorite rod.

I have a FF755 that I might let go of if the price is right
Will try and get pictures tonight

You should think carefully about whether your goal is get:

1) An old glass Fenwick for nostalgia purposes.

2) The best fly rod for your dad to begin flyfishing with.

The answers to those questions are probably going to be different.

But you could buy TWO rods and accomplish both goals!
