Cabela's LSi Spey and Switch Rods sale

So was think about trying out a Spay/Switch rod for steelhead. With these on sale I thought I might as well give it a try. What length and wt would you all suggest? I was thinking 7 or 8wt but not sure on the length. Thanks

How big of water are you going to fish? I have an 11'4" 7wt 4 Pc. switch rod and it has been perfect for salmon/steelhead. Fished smaller rivers in MI for steelhead and Salmon river in NY for salmon/steelhead.

Mostly rivers like the salmon river I'll go with the 7wt. Either the 11'6" or the 12'6"

So I ended up going with the 12'6" 7wt any suggestions on line for it?

Are you going to be indicator fishing or swinging or both? What reel?

Both and haven't picked up a reel yet

I really like the RIO Switch line. Has worked well for both for me. Just make sure whatever reel you get has good drag.
