A little help please: I am looking to tie some comet style salmon flies. I am a little unsure of the hackeling Technique

Can someone out there give a quick step by step on how to tie on of these? I am a little slow when it come to this stuff

Bruno:
I use a great "Comet" pattern found at www.akflyfishers.com
On their home page, click on "fly of the month", then got to the alphabetical listing under "Salmon Flies", to the Comet!
You'll find good-- step by step, color, photos of tying the fly, (including the hackle of course).
The hackle, on a Comet style fly, isn't really anything other than a standard "delta sweep/wet fly" style hackle job. Just be sure to tie your hackle feather in BY THE TIP, so you get the proper laying back of the fibers!
I use comet style flies a lot, for Chinook, Steelhead and Silvers and prefer to use ones with lead/metal dumbbell eyes to flip the fly over and keep the hook point riding "up". Orange, Hot Pink and all Black with Gold dumbbells are at least, my best producing pattern colors!?!
