Good work. I tied a few bead head PTNs and some glo-bugs tonight. I need to start photoing them.

What materials and hooks did you use for the sucker spawn?

Blue Angora Yarn and Glo Bug Cotton Candy on Dai Riki 155 Egg Hooks.

Just found the yarn and I like it very much.

what nymph pattern is that?

I use more of a lighter blue for my round eggs. I might experiment with a few other patterns this year. However I haven't tied a fly in about 3 months, so I might have to rely on last years leftovers. Which, thankfully I have a good amount of.

Do you like the bead heads on your SS? I've never weighted my egg patterns, just like to add shot.

i hardly weight anything i tie except for wooly buggers ......maybe thats my problem

The problem is that your eggs are too small Flip! lol :-D

I don't think eggs can be too small when the water is clear!

I tie some pretty big eggs and use them almost exclusively. I think Flip was maybe laughing a bit at how big they were at last years Steelhead JAM, and then I was slaying the fish with them lol. They are probably the size of a typical marble, tied on sz 10 scud hook. I think I do better with nymphs when the water is clear than with small eggs.

Are you going to share any of those sweet blue spawn ties?

I got my shipment of purchased flies for the Salmon River in yesterday. New toys!
