The Mosquito Klinkhammer was featured in the Winter Edition of Fly Tyer Magazine. Below link is a step by step PDF on how to tie the fly.

Very nice, Jerry.

The mosquito is a great pattern. I've never tied it klinkhammer style. Maybe I will give that a try.

The PDFs showing tying steps are great.

FYI to all tyers. The one thing I like to do when winding the hackle for a parachute in the last step is to reposition the fly 90* to wrap the hackle and whip finish in the traditional way, vertically instead of horizontally. It only takes a second to repostion the hook, but it makes tying a lot easier. I do this for all my parachute ties.

Another way is to position the hackle on the near side of the post and wrap the hackle counter clockwise around the post. When you tie off the hackle behind the eye the fibers of the hackle will be stroked in the direction and move away from the thread. Like petting a dog's fur in the direction of the fur. This will also help with whipfinishing. Very little hackles will be trapped.

I understand that using the whipfinsh tool on the horizontal plan takes practice but it eliminates the reposition of the fly in the vise. These are just differences for the fly tier and the tier should be able to find a technique that they are comfortable with and as a Fly Tying Instructor I am always trying to teach various techniques for a person to learn.
