I've been tying some bucktails and streamers lately.

Most have been on 3 xl #10, #12 hooks.

If your primary angling babbling brook was in Central PA what sizes of Black Nosed Dace and Lord Iris would you tie?

My ex-girlfriend told me size doesn't matter, but...

It's all in how you wiggle it.

That's what she said...

I'd keep these flies on the smaller size, especially if you're thinking about fishing for brook trout. Think a streamer that is two inches max or less. Tie them on corresponding hook sizes but don't go too big for small wild trout as hooks with a small bend will hook better. For an inch and a half streamer, the size 12 or 10 hooks you're using are sufficient. Keep these flies small if you're targeting small wild trout streams.
