Deer ears

Hello

As I am getting more experienced with fly tying I have been trying to make my own material. Made some nice dubbing out of some squirrels and rabbit I have shot and also used deer tails for everyone's favorite the clouser. I was butchering a doe I shot on Saturday and looking at the ears the hair is nice and short and I like the natural brown color. Has anyone ever used deer ears to made dubbing, I kept both ears and I am going to try I was just wondering if anyone has ever used it before and if it worked out any good. Thanks

I haven't used deer ears for dubbing, but I do use a deer mask for tying my dry caddis patterns. Saves the trouble of buying individual pieces for the various patterns.

When you say "masks" are you referring to the head or another part of the body
