Damsel flies , dragon flies and moths are all three insects , when in numbers , that trout can't help paying attention to , top feeding fish in general , bass , bluegill , pike etc. all can't help but notice these big uns flying about any advice on fishing and tying these would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help you on ties or tactics, but I once came across Potomac river smallmouths making fools of themselves jumping out of the water after damsel adults. I tried any number of flies to no avail, but none of those flies even remotely resembled an adult damsel.

Which is a good reminder before I go out on my next bass trip to try something in the neighborhood of Borger's Parachute damsel (which I have never tied or tried).

Tying a Better Borger Damsel

Here's one I tie with foam. Can easily be made into a damsel.

Damsel nymphs were a staple in lakes out west. Caught many trout on them sub surface. Never had a lot of luck on top.
