Well. the fracking industry is coming out of its slowdown, and Chevron is planning on building a pipline with direct water withdrawl from the Yough. I suppose it will eliminate the army of water trucks heading to frack pads, but also those jobs dor the drivers. Obviously, the biggest issue is the amount of water pulled from the river. While not in the ohiopyle area and trout fishery, i fish that section of river in the summer for smallmouth and its excellent. As the article says, West Newton relies heavily on fishing, canoeing, and yough river trail tourism. No doubt this will be disruptive.
