Spring Creek near Bellefonte

My wife and I will be staying at the Renolds Mansion in Bellefonte near the end of October. I may have 3 hours to fish one morning. Are there any spots on Spring Creek with easy access or are there any brookie streams nearby. Also heard that the owner's son would occasionally fish with the guests. Is this still true? Please pm if you prefer.

There is easy access in Bellefonte and Milesburg.

Pretty much the majority of Spring Creek is extremely easy access. Don't expect brookies though anywhere too close to Spring Creek.

I live in Bellefonte.

There is plenty of access to Spring Creek nearby.

With only 3 hours to fish, probably the simplest thing is just go to one of these two official PFBC access areas.

1) McCoy Access. It's about halfway between Bellefonte and Milesburg on Route 144.

2) Fishermans Paradise. You can fish in the groomed lawns area adjacent to the hatchery and parking areas, which is the no wading zone.
Or, (better IMHO) park in the upper parking lot, and just walk up the gated gravel road along the stream. Wading is permitted up here. And the landscape is more natural looking.
