Fished little pine tonight and I know I saw a few green drakes coming off. And when I say a few I mean 2-3 in over three hours of fishing. Has anyone ever saw them there? I know they come off pine creek some but never heard of them on little pine. On a funny note I caught a 17in stone roller on a march brown dun right at dark, must say it put up a pretty good fight

Yes, they are there. We fished over them at the one Jamboree that was held at Cedar Run back a decade ago.

Dear lyco,

Yes there are green drakes on the Little Pine and it is one of the few places where the fish seem to consistently eat the duns as well as the spinners.

Maybe that is because the hatch isn't as prolific as on Penns but I've had good fishing over the green drake hatch on Little Pine especially in the special regs area.

Regards,

Tim Murphy :)

even the tribs have them.

I've seen GDs on Little Pine. GDs are found on hundreds of streams.

I was fishing L. Pine yesterday until about 5:30 p.m. and there were GD duns hatching sporadically for the last couple of hours I was there. Never saw a fish take one the entire time.
