Heading up north to do some coyote hunting and see if I can find some willing trout in the driftwood area. I'm planning on nymphing 95% of the time with an occasional streamers thrown in the mix, dropping temps have me a little worried though, its supposed to get down to the mids 20s. I'll keep this post updated if I can find any service while I'm up there

Picking up a lot of holdovers, mostly browns with incredible color. Slow and deep with nymph tandems. Pictures will be posted after i get home, almost no service up here. Big fish of the trip is a 22.5" holdover brown by my friend Steve... still no brown over 20" for me.. the curse goes on. Heading out on a brookie stream with natives for sure.

a couple good holdovers in the freezing temps

Nice fish! Can't wait to get up that way soon. How were the dirt roads?

No snow at all I couldn't believe it, just down right cold. Couldn't believe my best strikes were on streamers fished slow... Swinging olive buggers to be specific

Nice fish we have a camp near emporium are you around there what streams do you fish around there
adam

Driftwood branch, northfork, clear and canoe creeks, mostly driftwood just because I haven't got much time in up there as I would like to do more exploring

Are you fishing the Class A section or just regular? I am plan on exploring the Class A this year of the Driftwood and Straight

Honestly I didn't know there was a class A section of driftwood, after the spill I didn't think class A would be possible..

I had read that the stream rebounded from the spill. Not 100%, but it is returning.

Thats great news, maybe I'll reconsider my plan, my grandpa used to say that and straight were the nicest streams he ever fished, but who knows after the 37 wells I can count around both the streams and the closest road for access is shut down.
