Allegheny National Forest worth checking out?

Past it a few times while driving up to jobs in NY state. Looks big and wild. How is the fishing in the forest? Worth hiking up into it.? I would guess has a ton of small water holding nothing to very big.

If brook trout is your game, then the ANF is for you. It's really limitless in terms of options if you are ok with doing a little bit of driving on forest roads and then doing some hiking.

If I were you I'd call the Forester, they can tell you what streams are fishing well, and they can tell what streams are whacked by acid precipitation, and you won't to fish the acidic streams.
