Looks like dam removals and stream recovery projects have had a good effect. Maine is opening the Penobscott to atlantic salmon fishing again.

Yeah! It's great that they are going to allow fishing for them in the Penobscot River, but it's only 1 river and only 1000 fish, hardly a recovery. They could have always been there and just been missed. Now if 3 or 5 years from now there's 10,000 fish or even 5,000 then I'd call it recovering.
The other rivers weren't reported on and that's a concern. Though I did hear that there may be Salmon returning to Grand Lake Stream.
