For the past 18 months, Valley Forge Trout Unlimited[has sponsored a Project Healing Waters program at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.
Project Healing Waters Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education, fly-tying and outings.
The current program provides support for all vets at Coatesville and will continue to for in-patient activities.
Anticipating increased demand, we are initiating an out-patient program for disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans. The West Bradford Fire company has graciously offered use of their facilities at their Poorhouse Rd. location in Thorndale, Pennsylvania for this new project. Our plan is to begin in October 2014. Before we open, we are seeking additional fly fishing volunteers who can commit at least 2 hours a month to help servicemen & women in their physical and emotional rehabilitation.
