After a complicated permitting process, Cumberland Valley TU has approval to begin repairs on the sinkhole in the upper FFO section. We could use your help. We'll meet Tuesday April 24th at 9am. Park at the curve pull off at Bonneybrook (you'll be directed to another parking area). You'll need hip boots or tall muck boots and some work gloves. If you can only drop by for an hour or two, feel free as we understand not everyone has all day. We can use all the help we can get.
Keep an eye on this thread as there may be changes in this work project pending rainfall.

Thanks,
Dave W

Dave, what does the project consist of, that is, how do you repair sinkholes? What kind of assistance is needed from volunteers? Tuesday is Election Day, so don't forget to vote before or after the work-day. Best of luck and thanks for your efforts and all who volunteer.

This phase of the project is mainly stacking sandbags for the purpose of controlling water flow into a meadow. At the present time, there isn't actually a large sinkhole here (there have been several here in the past couple decades) and the work project is designed to keep water out of small surface breaks so as to reduce the likelihood that another sinkhole will develop.

The project is still on for tomorrow. Will probably be only about two hours however (9am to 11ish); probably won't need hip boots but good work boots would help along with your work gloves. Other tools will be provided. I'll be there - hope to see you if you can make it.

Thanks in advance.
Dave W
