This is pretty much exactly the hatch I have needed to match the last week. I don't have the braid. Gonna try some with a Mickey Finn style tinsel/wire body.

A variant of the Sparrow Nymph tied up for the carp box. Going to be getting out to start off the carpin’ season real soon with the increasing warmer temps. Black bead chain eyes to get the fly down in the feeding zone quickly without the (chucking a rock in the creek) effect of flies tied with dumbbell eyes that absolutely blow up the deal on many spooky carp. I’m really looking forward to getting into some carp this season.

Nice variant on the Fish Hawk. What did you use for the hackle on that one?

I believe the original called for badger hackle, which I do not have. I subbed a hen pheasant outer covert feather, of which I have plenty

Very nice soft hackles!!

I use a Hungarian Partridge skin for my soft hackle flies. I find the trout really like 'em later in the spring.
