I guess I don't post much fishing related stuff. I do fish quite a bit. :D

One of my new favorite things is swinging streamers for smallmouth with a switch rod. Here's a few from Sunday afternoon. They're in fast water and hungry right now. Landed 30 from 1:30 to 7. Several of which were really nice.

11' 7wt w/ a 420gr skagit head and intermediate tip w/ a 3ft 20lb mono leader. All on a 5-1/2" long white deceiver. I actually fished the same fly the whole time. Never changed. No need to.

Nice! Yep. Though I canoe it and raft it. Just an afternoon jaunt to clear my head so I didn't have time to mess with boats.

Nice invasive. I'm in the camp of having a 2 hander, but I can't cast it well. I swing streamers a lot with single hand rods. I think swinging is the best way to fish streamers.

Why are you calling smallmouth invasive?? They may not be native to the Susquehanna but neither are the largemouth, muskies, crappies, walleyes, or bluegills. Probably the only native fish are the shad, stripers, and suckers. I'll be glad to get a bunch of those invasives any day. BTW I have caught hundreds of large trout and smallmouth on streamers and less than 1% have been caught while swinging them. Bait fish usually are swimming, or at least finning in place, only dead fish float with the current. There are far more live, than dead, bait fish. So when I'm throwing streamers I am stripping to trigger the natural instinct of carnivores to chase prey. All stripped fly eaters.

Very nice.
I take my switch rod out for river bass from time to time.
